2-Year Genetic Health Guarantee & Warranty
Every puppy born on our Portland, Oregon farm is backed by our comprehensive written health warranty. We take lifelong pride in our bloodlines and stand behind the structural soundness, temperament, and genetic health of our dogs.
1. Pre-Placement Veterinary Examination
Prior to joining their new families, every puppy undergoes an exhaustive physical examination by our licensed Oregon veterinarian. This includes heart auscultation for murmurs, clear lung sounds, bite alignment, ophthalmologic inspection, abdominal palpation, and patellar check. All puppies are dewormed on an alternating veterinary protocol and receive age-appropriate core vaccinations (DHPP).
2. 72-Hour Introductory Wellness Check
We require adoptive parents to have their puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian of their choosing within seventy-two (72) business hours of pickup. If your veterinarian certifies within this window that the puppy possesses a pre-existing severe medical defect that was undisclosed, you may return the puppy for a full refund or replacement.
3. Two-Year Genetic Health Warranty
We guarantee that for twenty-four (24) months from the puppy's date of birth, the puppy will remain free from life-threatening hereditary genetic conditions, including severe congenital cardiac defects, Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), or fatal organ failure. Should a certified veterinary pathologist or specialist document such a condition, a replacement puppy of equal value from our next available litter will be provided.
4. Spinal Care & Environmental Exclusions
Because Dachshunds possess chondrodysplastic conformation, environmental management is crucial to back longevity. This guarantee does not cover injuries caused by high-impact jumping from furniture, traumatic falls, vehicular accidents, or obesity. We urge all owners to use furniture ramps and keep their dogs at an optimal, lean body condition.
5. Lifetime Return & Breeder Commitment
We never want any dog from our farm to enter an animal shelter or rescue organization. If at any point during your dog's life your personal circumstances change such that you can no longer care for them, you agree to contact us, and we will welcome the dog back to our farm or assist in rehoming them to a verified, loving family.
